Dr. V. Sridhar
(Principal)

Dr. V. Sridhar has obtained his Ph.D from Indian Institute of Technology (IITD), New Delhi in the year 1996. He obtained his B.E (E&C) from University of Mysore in the year 1980 and M.E (Electronics & Telecommunications) from Jadavpur university, Calcutta in the year 1986. He began his career at PES college of Engineering (PESCE), Mandya as Lecturer in the department of ECE, subsequently, he was an Assistant professor and Professor and Head of the department of ECE in PESCE, Mandya. He was Registrar (evaluation) at Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum from 2004 to 2006 and also officer incharge of Online Examinations of VTU from 2006 to 2008. Presently he is serving as the Principal, PESCE, Mandya. He has more than 29 years of teaching, research and administrative experience.

His major areas of research interest are Bio-medical instrumentation, Telemedicine, VLSI Design and Mobile communication. He has to his credit more than 40 research papers in national /international journals and conferences. He has produced PhDs and presently guiding students who are pursuing Ph.D at Research Centres of PESCE. He has also delivered several invited talk and key note addresses in Conferences, Seminars and Workshops.

He has undertaken several sponsored research activities , projects from reputed organizations from time to time. He is a Life Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (FIETE), Life member of ISTE, BMSI, and member of Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (MIEEE), USA. Presently he is a member of Academic senate of VTU, Belgaum, Chairman of BOS (Electronics) University of Mysore, and served as BOS member of other Universities.

  • Owning the credit in getting 5 years Accreditation to E & C department from NBA (only one E & C department to get 5 years accreditation in the Karnataka state in the year 2002).
  • Responsible to get more than Rs. 70 Lakhs AICTE funds for various projects like MODROB, TAPTEC, and R & D for E & C Dept.
  • Successful implementation of Research Project “Telemedicine using 3-G mobile” AICTE funded R & D project (2004-2007).
  • Guiding the students for 4- Ph.D and 2-M.Sc. Engg (by Research) in the areas of VLSI, Ergonomics, Biomedical Engg.
  • Currently under taken project under S & T mission mode, Ministry of social justice and empowerment, Govt of India, project titled “Acquisition and characterization of EMG signal for human machine interface”. Project cost is Rs. 14 lakhs.
