Automobile Engineering Association (AEA):

In order to encourage and promote the various extracurricular activities of the students, Automobile Engineering Association is formed which focus on the students activities. The association invites experts from the various Institutes/Research organizations regularly to deliver the guest lecturer about the latest developments and innovations in the field of Automobile Engineering and share their experience with the students and the staff members. The faculty member interacts with the students regularly to solve their problems. Various programs are designed in order to develop the sense of leadership, team work managerial skills of the students and are encouraged to participate in various inter collegiate/ university sports and games. Many of the students have won prizes for their performance. Projects tour, industrial visits are organized regularly in addition to the regular curriculum to keep them abreast with the recent advances in the technology. Some of expert lectures arranged by the department for the benefit of students and staff in the recent past are given below.

• A Two Weeks short term training  on “Recent Developments in Automotive Vehicle Design”
• A workshop on Automotive Engineering Challenges & Opportunities
• Planning to conduct workshop on Future technologies of Automobiles on 14th May 2011

B) Technical training:

1. Hands on experience at automobile organizations such as KSRTC,  Computerized wheel balancing etc.
2. Certificate courses by SDS and MSM consultancy services Bangalore reg.  Software application courses
3. Modular training for Students and Technical staff at Bosch Training Centre, Bangalore

2. The CAD/CAM Certificate courses (CATIA, UNIGRAPHICS, ANSYS and HYPERMESH) were conducted for the Students of Automobile Engg., Mechanical Engg., & Industrial Production Engg., during 2005, 2006 and 2007.
3. Participation in competitions like BAJA a vehicle design competition.
   
   All students and faculty members of the department are members of SAE Collegiate club, Number of activities like Workshop, Technical Talks, and AutoExpo, Etc., Inter College Competitions were  conducted under the banner of SAE Collegiate Club.  
        
4. The SAE Collegiate club with the support of the Automobile Engg. Dept. is organizing an Automobile Extravaganza (Wheeled Evolution) which consists of a 3-day Automotive Expo. and many competitions based on the automotive industry.
