Indian Society for Technical Education is a professional organization of engineering educators and educational administrators. It is a society registered under the societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The principle objective of ISTE is to advance the cause of education in general and all its functions which pertain to engineering and also to serve a common agency for simulating and guiding its members to formulate strategies for development of technical education and research.
ISTE had been engaged in a variety of programmes and actions leading to the up gradation and modernization of present day curriculum, faculty and educational infrastructure so as to make the technical education in India comparable with that in the advanced countries. PES College of Engineering, Mandya became the Institutional member of ISTE in the year 1986.

ISTE chapter, which is a branch of Indian Society for Technical Education, New Delhi, took birth in the PES College of Engineering campus in the year 1989. Almost all the staff members of the institution are life members of ISTE. The members are benefited through attending short term courses and other activities of the ISTE. Since the beginning of the chapter many activities have been conducted in the institution for the benefit of staff members and students. Programs for the family members are also conducted like arranging short tour, family get together, games to spouses and children etc., The current office bearers are Dr KN Umesh as Chairman, Sri BS Shivakumara as Secretary/Treasurer, Dr AT Eswara as Chief Editor and Dr. C.J. Gangadhara Gowda, K. Ramesh, Dr. K.N. Muralidhara, Dr. M.C. Padma, Sri. S. Narasimha Murthy, Sri. M.K. Krishna, Sri. H.P. Mohan Kumar, Sri. Mahesh A.S, as Members of the Executive Committee.

ISTE – Pesce Student Chapter
ISTE Students Chapter of the PES College of Engineering was instituted in the year 1999. Almost all the students are members of the institution for their entire course period. The total strength of 1847 include BE, MTech and MCA students who are in the campus. We have around The members are benefited through attending technical, cultural, personality development programs, voluntary service camps and other lecture demonstration and other activities of the ISTE. Some competitions are also organized for the students in order to sharpen and exhibit their skills.Suhas KU, President, Aditi.N, Secretary, B.S.Vyshak, Vice- President, Nithin.M.L, PRO, as Members of the Executive Committee. The Coordinators for the various activities are Daivik. L -Technical, Vinodkumar – Sports, Bhavani – Editorial, Lishikta – Cultural and Padmashri Prakash – Social activity.
